Department of Transportation
Major Changes as a Result of the Coronavirus
DOT will be providing direct public service for the approval of Ignition Interlock Indigency status. This will be a direct service and will have a skeleton crew to handle walk-in customers. The area of service does have plexiglass between the public and DOT staff.
DOT will have at least one person at all ports of entry regular work hours. However, not all permits will not be checked to minimize interaction with the public. Only commercial vehicles with obvious safety violations will be stopped. Staff will be available for emergencies or urgent matters that arise.
DOT will continue to be available for assistance and leadership in managing/clearing traffic crashes, stranded motorists, removing hazards from roadways, snow removal and on-going construction services.
DOT will transition as many employees as possible to telework ASAP.
