Major Changes as a Result of the Coronavirus

The Office of Archaeological Studies (OAS) will continue to provide cultural resource services for project, such as building construction, waterline installation, fiber optic conduit installation, electrical service installation, road construction, and emergency burial response (in the context of building construction). OAS will also continue services related to the development of permitting documents for required consultations. Members of the public must schedule an appointment by calling 505-476-4404.

The Historic Preservation Division and State Historic Preservation Officer will continue to provide services related to state and federal compliance reviews. The public should call 505-827-6320 or email to schedule an appointment. Staff is also available to assist the public with access to records in the Archaeological Records Management Section and the New Mexico Cultural Resources Information System.
