The Albuquerque offices of the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department will move into new space at the Copper Pointe office complex near I-40 and Eubank on Nov. 16.
The Department’s current lease at the Bank of the West Building expired in March 2020 but was extended while renovations were being completed on the Copper Pointe space.
The mailing address for the Albuquerque District Office remains the same, P.O. Box 8485, Albuquerque, NM, 87198-8485. Likewise, the Call Center can continue to be reached at 1-866-285-2996.
The physical address of the new location is 10500 Copper Ave, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87123.
Because of the ongoing pandemic, the office will continue to operate on an appointment-only basis for the foreseeable future. Appointments can be made through the Call Center.
“We’re excited about this move, which will be good for the public and Taxation and Revenue employees. Copper Pointe is in a highly visible location, with good access, modern infrastructure and excellent security,” said Cabinet Secretary Stephanie Schardin Clarke. “We look forward to being able to serve taxpayers from our new Albuquerque location.”
The Copper Pointe lease is for 61,138 square feet with an initial term of 10 years. It will cost the department about $1.6 million for the first year, increasing by 1.99% annually thereafter.
A portion of the space was last occupied by Brown Mackie College.
Copper Pointe is owned by MW Development, LLC.
