The Eagle Vista MVD field office in Albuquerque was closed Thursday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
MVD staff have been wearing personal protective equipment and social distancing, and all employees are screened for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure before their shifts.
The affected employee wore personal protective equipment and practiced social distancing at all times while at MVD, and plexiglass barriers are in place between employees and customers. However, out of an abundance of caution, MVD employees are reaching out to all customers who have provided email addresses or phone numbers and who were served at the office between July 6 and July 9.
All New Mexicans who believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19 are encouraged to self-isolate for 14 days and to get tested. A complete list of testing sites and other information about COVID-19 is available at cv.nmhealth.org. People can pre-register for testing at Department of Health sites using this link: https://cvtestreg.nmhealth.org/.
The Eagle Vista office is being cleaned and is expected to reopen on Monday with staff from other MVD offices.
Appointments at Eagle Vista MVD on Thursday and Friday have been moved to other Albuquerque-area MVD offices.
