During the public health emergency declared by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in Executive Order 2020-004, the Superintendent of the Regulation and Licensing Department, in consultation with the Chair of the Advisory Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners (Board) herein announce the following procedures for a COVID-19 Temporary Permit:
- Who may apply for the COVID-19 Temporary Permit:
- Students that have completed educational requirements and are ready to work as externs;
- Graduates (includes CRT); and
- Out of state respiratory care licensees (proof of out of state licensure is required.)
- All COVID-19 Temporary Permit holders must be supervised by a New Mexico licensed Physician or a New Mexico licensed Respiratory Care Therapist.
- No fees will be charged for the COVID-19 Temporary Permit.
- How to apply:
- The COVID-19 Temporary Permit application and supporting documentation are available on the Board website at: http://www.rld.state.nm.us/boards/Respiratory_Care_Forms_and_Applications.aspx
- Complete the COVID-19 Temporary Permit Application, COVID -19 Training Supervisor Agreement and the COVID-19 Employment Verification Statement.
