As part of the state’s efforts to limit in-person contact in response to the coronavirus outbreak, Motor Vehicle Division field offices will be serving customers by appointment only beginning Monday and until further notice. 

Under a directive issued by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham Sunday, state offices that provide direct service to the public must limit staff and move to an alternative or remote model of service. This step is being taken to protect public health by limiting unnecessary gatherings. 

Customers who need to conduct a transaction that cannot be done online, such as obtaining first-time driver’s licenses or IDs, first-time Real IDs and vehicle title transfers, can schedule an appointment online. The direct web address for scheduling an appointment is
